There is little doubt that people are excited about Keanu Reeves' upcoming projects. One of these films just happens to be the sequel to Constantine where he originally played the cynical exorcist. But is Constantine 2 still moving forward? Reeves admitted that he isn't certain that the sequel is still happening.
Keanu Reeves is currently promoting John Wick: Chapter 4 but he also discussed his other projects with Comicbook.com. However, when asked about Constantine 2, Reeves admitted that he has no idea if the film is still moving forward.
"I was hoping it would, but we don't know," Reeves said. "Yeah, we're trying."
This is shocking news considering that everyone is already looking forward to Constantine 2. After all, the planned sequel is one of the projects confirmed by DC and Warner Bros., and has inadvertently caused the cancellation of the previously announced Constantine series reboot. Nevertheless, fans are still hopeful that there will be new updates soon.
It was previously reported that Constantine 2 is still one of the major projects for DC and Warner Bros. after producer Akiva Goldsman shared a promising update.
"We're starting with two projects that are fun and very much Warners; the sequel to I Am Legend, with Will and Michael B. Jordan, and the sequel to Constantine with Keanu Reeves that Francis Lawrence is going to direct," Goldsman said. "So I'm coming out of the gate fast. We're doing it with J.J. Abrams, and Francis and Keanu and I have been pretty deep in the story-breaking stage."
For now, it's safe to say that Constantine 2 is still in early development. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The film will hit theaters on March 24, 2023.
