During New Year's Day last year, Jeremy Renner suffered blunt chest trauma following an accident as he was hit and run over by a 14,330-pound snowplow near his home. He underwent surgery and was hospitalized for several days.
Fortunately, he was able to recover swiftly in the months after the accident and returned to work as he finally started filming for the third season of his hit Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown.
Now that the actor is working again, MCU fans have been wondering about whether he is also open to return to the franchise as well and continue playing Hawkeye in future projects.

Jeremy Renner Opens Up About His Potential MCU Return In the Midst of Recovery
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight recently, Jeremy Renner addressed his potential MCU return following his snowplow accident last year.
He revealed that he is open to returning to the franchise and working with his colleagues again as his recovery continues.
"I'm always game. I'm gonna be strong enough, that's for sure. I'll be ready. All those guys come to my bedside and they've been with me all along through this recovery, so... if they want me, they could have me. It would be something," the actor said.
Renner also shared the latest update on his recovery where he said that he is feeling "strong" now as he is closer to going back to his normal activities and routines again.
"[I'm doing] probably 90 percent of all the things I needed to be doing... I think another six months will be hopefully running [more]... I got to set goals for myself. I'll do whatever I can... whatever it takes to get better, to get stronger," he told the outlet.
"It's a one-way street, this recovery. The rest of my life is about health and wellness. Recovery will be part of the rest of my life, so I look forward to it, man. There's always something to do to get better, be stronger, be happier, be healthier, and that's what I look forward to."
It is great to hear that Renner is open to making his MCU return and it might still take a while before he can go back into action as Hawkeye since his recovery is ongoing.
It also won't be surprising at this point if he won't be participating in a lot of fight sequences when he appears in future projects in the aftermath of the accident, but at the very least, he is ready to go back to the franchise if Marvel Studios gives him a call.
