Jar Jar Actor Ahmed Best Thanks All the Support That has Come His Way Since his Admission of Contemplating Suicide

Ahmed Best played Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and yesterday, he admitted on Twitter that he was contemplating suicide because of all the backlash that the character got from the fanbase. An overwhelming wave of positivity suddenly saw went Best's way, and he now thanks everyone who has been showing their support.

When it comes to the "show" that he's talking about, I don't think he means Binks: A Star Wars Story. He probably means that he's going to make a show about his experience with the toxic fandom of Star Wars. After all, he isn't alone. Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen got a lot of flak for playing Anakin Skywalker, and even Disney era actors Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran also have their experience with foul fans.

It was Tran's Instagram exit that was actually the catalyst for this sudden #ForceOutHate movement. All of a sudden, the Star Wars fandom was looking inward, and now everyone is actively trying to keep positive vibes within the fandom and trying to drown out all the haters.

Going back to Best, I'm actually interested to see what his story is. Even Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson showed his support to have the show made. Hopefully it holds up a mirror to the toxic fans of just how destructive their attitudes can be to real people.
