Yoda Actor Frank Oz Thought Jar Jar Binks was a Great Character

Yesterday, Ahmed Best revealed that the fan backlash on his portrayal of Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars almost pushed him to suicide, and now everyone is opening up online, showing their support for him. Now franchise veteran Frank Oz has come out with his thoughts on Jar Jar as a character.

Frank Oz posted:

Working on shows like The Muppets and Sesame Street, Oz probably sympathizes when it came to characters that were made for kids—which was what Jar Jar was supposed to be. If you look at all the backlash, all of it comes from the adult members of the audience. Mostly every kid who saw Jar Jar in the cinema thought he was a pretty fun character.

Ever since Kelly Marie Tran's exit on Instagram, there has been an internal movement in the Star Wars fandom to #ForceOutHate. With several actors in the franchise having been constantly harassed by the toxic fanbase, it's now time to step forward and try to push out all the hate that the fandom is notorious for dishing out.

A lot of people are now reaching out to Best for his admission, and hopefully this means a more respectful and positive Star Wars fanbase moving forward.
