Soulmate Adventure has gained a dedicated fanbase over the past couple of years. For some who have only gotten into the series though, they may be wondering if Soul Adventure is a yuri anime.
This is a fair question considering that the series’ main characters are girls who have teamed up to go on an adventure.
On top of asking if it’s a yuri series, some are also wondering what exactly the show is. After all, Soulmate Adventure is not your typical anime.
Soulmate Adventure: The Popular Donghua’s Story
Even though it looks very much like an anime, Soulmate Adventure is technically a donghua, a Chinese-made anime.
This series is produced by the Chinese studio Sunflowers and is streaming on Bilibili. Its first season is composed of 12 episodes, which were released between March 2017 and February 2021.
A second season followed in 2023. Unlike the first season which got new episodes sporadically, season 2 was released weekly from July to September 2023.
As for its story, Soulmate Adventure follows the thief Feng Linger who has teamed up with a white-haired girl named Bai Yuxiu. The two go on an adventure, though they soon get involved in a conspiracy.

Is Soulmate Adventure a Yuri Anime?
Given the relationship between the two main characters, many are wondering if Soulmate Adventure is a yuri anime.
It’s fair to say that this is more of an action-adventure series than a yuri show. That’s because the series puts more focus on the duo’s adventure and the conspiracy that follows them.
Of course, it’s hard to deny that there are some yuri elements in the series based on Feng Linger and Bai Yuxiu’s interactions.
Thus, this series is somewhat similar to an anime like Gundam: Witch from Mercury in that it’s an action show with yuri elements.
Will Soulmate Adventure Get a Season 3? Our Predictions
Even though the first season was released in a span of four years, the second season had a more typical seasonal release schedule.
Because of this, fans are hoping that Soulmate Adventure will get a season 3 in the future. For now though, there’s no indication yet of a continuation, meaning fans should wait a bit longer for an announcement.
