Meet Leonica: The Small But Terrible Dragon Slayer
Leonica, or simply Leo, is not your ordinary anime girl. Yes, she is cute, petite, and sweet, but Leo doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to dragon-slaying.
She even held the highest record of dragons killed for a very long time until Ragna broke her record.
At a very young age, Leo realized that she had unusual superhuman strength. She can kill dragons in a matter of seconds, and her battle instinct is more precise and competitive than any other adventurer in the world.
Leo may act cute and adorable in front of Ragna, but don’t be fooled. Leo’s sword can split her enemies in half, and she will not think twice about beating anyone, especially those who throw insults at Ragna.
If it’s for Ragna, Leo will annihilate any enemy that comes her way.
She puts Leo on a high pedestal, as he is the only person in the world who understands her, including her mission to exterminate as many dragons as she can.
A lot of people judge Leo’s treatment of Ragna. They believe that Ragna was only using Leo to ride on her strength and popularity.
But little do they know, Leo and Ragna have the same passion that brought them together on the same path.
Does Leo Die in Ragna Crimson?
No, Leo is still alive in Ragna Crimson, despite Ragna’s nightmares about her death. In reality, Leo should have died a long time ago if Ragna wasn’t able to receive the powers, skills, and abilities of his future self.
Based on Ragna’s nightmares, Leo should have been stabbed to death by a number of dragon-like shoots that emerged from the evil black dragon’s body.
Ragna prevented this from happening after his future self’s powers manifested in him.
If Leo dies early in the series, Ragna will follow the same path as his future self. He will constantly be in misery, looking for reasons to exist in the world.
He will train all his life to grow stronger so that he can fulfill Leo’s wish to hunt dragons as much as they can.
But all of Ragna’s efforts will be meaningless since Leo will not be around to take care of him and be happy for him. After all, Ragna’s reason for living is only Leo, and if she is not around, everything he does will be in vain.
To protect Leo, Ragna decided to leave her in Sykes’ care. He believes that having Leo around with him will only expose her to the inevitable danger and threat coming from the dragons that come after him.
Will Leo See Ragna Again?
As of writing, Leo and Ragna have yet to reunite in Ragna Crimson. But we’re expecting that the two of them will have a reunion sometime in the future.
By then, Leo should have grown stronger, but most likely not to the same level as Ragna.
Perhaps the two of them will team up to defeat the strongest dragon in the world, along with Crimson.
We’re assuming that Ragna Crimson is developing their characters separately to prepare them for the final fight.
