Gyeongseong Creature is a period Kdrama set in 1945, a time when Korea was under Japanese occupation. The show is infused with history, sci-fi, and romance. This is because there is an unknown creature attacking everyone on sight.
In the midst of the sci-fi aspect of the series, Gyeongseong Creature adds a touch of romance between its lead characters. The chemistry between Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee is undeniable, which makes this an even more exciting Kdrama to watch.
As for its historical aspect, the show follows some of the issues that were prevalent during the time: ruthless killings, missing individuals, and secret experiments.

So is Gyeongseong Creature scary? After all, the show is categorized as a mystery thriller/horror.
In the sense of how scary the show is, there are a few jumpscares, especially when it comes to how the creature appears. But it's not really as scary as other shows of its own kind.
It can be compared with Sweet Home's level of scariness. If you're the type who enjoys some thriller in what you're watching, Gyeongseong Creature won't disappoint you.
There may be some jumpscares but it's not the type to leave behind nightmares when you go to sleep.
Will Gyeongseong Creature Have a Second Season?
Gyeongseong Creature has a total of 10 episodes. The first seven episodes were released on December 22, 2023. The last episode released left a huge cliffhanger ending as to who could turn into the new monster.
We'll have to wait until January 5, 2024, to find out more about Gyeongseong Creature. The second part of the series will only have three episodes, which we hope will be enough to satisfy the curiosity of its viewers.
There's no word on whether a second season is possible. But there's lots of room for that on the table, depending on the trajectory of the second part's ending. The Najin parasite could be brought to another Korean city where a new experiment will be conducted.
For now, we'll have to wait until the second part gets released.
