What Is Berserk of Gluttony About?
The Berserk of Gluttony anime revolves around a character named Fate Graphite who has never truly experienced the might of real power.
Endowed with the magical aptitude of Gluttony, he perpetually grappled with an insatiable hunger, enduring a lifetime of contempt and ostracization.
However, during a fateful encounter as a gatekeeper for a noble family, battling a trespassing thief, Fate unveiled the genuine potency of Gluttony.
It was in the act of taking a life that he discovered his ability to consume the skills of the fallen, finally appeasing his insatiable appetite. During this macabre revelation, Fate unraveled his absolute potential.
The Berserk of Gluttony anime is based on the light novel series of the same name written by Ichika Isshiki and drawn by fame. The light novel’s first volume came out on November 30, 2017.
Meanwhile, there is also a manga based on the light novel authored by Isshiki and illustrated by Daisuke Takino. The first of the Berserk of Gluttony manga was released on March 1, 2018.
Is Berserk of Gluttony Related to Berserk?
Apart from sharing the word “Berserk” in their title, Berserk and Berserk of Gluttony share no other connection.
However, it is interesting to note that both titles are based on dark fantasy themes.
Miura’s Berserk goes above and beyond to explore the abyss of darkness and human suffering. Berserk revolves around Guts, who is known as the Black Swordsman.
He roams through a medieval realm, combating demons drawn to a demon mark on his neck.
Guts had a challenging upbringing among mercenaries, but he wields inhuman strength, an iron prosthetic left hand, and a colossal sword, and is supported by the elf Puck.
The Berserk manga debuted in 1989. After Miura passed away in May 2021, his last written and illustrated chapter was posthumously released in September 2021.
Berserk recommenced in June 2022, overseen by Miura’s childhood friend and fellow manga artist named Kouji Mori.
Miura’s team of assistants and apprentices from Studio Gaga joined Mori to continue the mangaka’s legacy.
