Iron Man 2020's Robot Wolverine is Getting His Own Series

It looks like Marvel is ready to flood the market with more Wolverine comics as the company has announced a new mini-series spinning out of Iron Man 2020 and it stars Robot Wolverine. This new mini-series is called 2020 iWolverine and will be written by ‘90s Wolverine writer Larry Hama, who actually invented the character back in his run. That is going to make a lot of comic book fans happy.

Revealed by CBR, 2020 iWolverine will have the creative team of Hama and artist Roland Boschi. The series will only run for two issues and focus on Albert, the Robot Wolverine, as he enters Madripoor to try and rescue Elsie Dee. It sounds pretty cliche but we're willing to see where this goes, especially since a series about Albert the Robot Wolverine sounds kind of fun.

Here's what Larry Hama had to say about the series:

"I'm super ramped to be returning to two of my favorite supporting characters from my '90s Wolverine run. Elsie Dee and Albert started out as an odd Bizarro version of Wolvy and Jube, but they quickly developed lives of their own, and their dialog was gosh-darn fun to write. Exhilarating to be able to dip into this particular font again, and I'm having a blast."

This will be a part of the Iron Man 2020 event that actually has a ton of other tie-in comic books. Fans are probably happy seeing Larry Hama in a Marvel comic book again, especially since it involves one of his creations, and we can only hope that this is a fun series.

Marvel will release 2020 iWolverine this May.
