While the anime’s first season only ended recently, the Insomniacs After School manga ending date has been revealed. And it turns out that the manga will be finished after two more chapters, meaning it will end this August.
This might come as a surprise for new fans, though it’s something that long-time readers would’ve seen coming based on what’s happening in the story.
But it’s still surprising that the manga’s ending was revealed with only two chapters left.
After all, some manga get ending reveals months before their final chapter.
Insomniacs After School Is Ending Just Weeks After the Anime’s First Season Finale
The Insomniacs After School manga is written and illustrated by Makoto Ojiro, and it began serialization in Weekly Big Comic Spirits back in May 2019.
Since then, the manga has gained a steady following, and it became successful enough to get a TV anime adaptation from Liden Films (of Tokyo Revengers fame).
While the manga already had a solid following, its popularity was further boosted by the anime which aired from April to July 2023.
Though the impending end of the manga may be sad news for newer fans who wanted to spend more time with Ganta and Isaki, the hope is that the manga will end on a high note.
Aside from the anime, a live-action film adaptation was also released in June, and it stars Nana Mori as Isaki Magari.
Mori is perhaps best known for being the voice of Hina Amano in Makoto Shinkai’s Weathering With You.

Insomniacs After School Manga Is Ending in Just Two Chapters
In the latest Weekly Big Comic Spirits issue, it was announced that the Insomniacs After School manga will end in just two chapters.
Given that the manga gets a new chapter every Monday, it is expected to end on August 7, 2023. That is if the manga does not get delayed.
Considering how only two chapters are remaining, it’s all but guaranteed that the manga will be completed sometime in August.
With this, the manga’s run will officially end at Chapter 125 – not a bad run, all things considered.
Plus, the fact that it got an anime series and a live-action film is already a testament to its popularity and appeal.
The Insomniacs After School anime is available to stream in the US on HIDIVE.
As for the live-action film, there’s no word on international release plans for it yet.
