Injustice 2: Constantine, Penguin, and Other DC Characters Were Almost Included

Injustice 2 wasn't just a spectacular fighting game; it was also an amazing DC experience. The game has one of the best stories ever seen in the genre and the comic book tie-ins are also great reads. While most people agree with the game's quality, some fans were a bit sad that some of their favorite characters didn't make the cut.

Freelance concept artist Justin Murray decided to reveal some of the unused concept art that was made for the game and some of them are for unused characters. These characters include John Constantine, Detective Chimp, Bluebird, The Penguin, Krypto, and The Demon Etrigan. It would have been really cool seeing these characters in the game and many fans are probably hating how two Mortal Kombat fighters got a spot over these characters.

Constantine was actually the main focus of the Injustice comics, essentially being the lead character for Year Three. He ended up cursing Trigon and freed himself from his curse so that he could disappear with his daughter. Detective Chimp was also in that story, though he died to save everyone in Year Three. Etrigan also lost his human form in the comic book tie-in, though Batman did transform into him briefly.

Bluebird and Penguin probably weren't included because the game already had too many Gotham characters. Batman, Robin, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Bane, and Red Hood were all in the game so their omission does make sense.

Injustice 2 and Injustice 2: Legendary Edition are available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. There is also a mobile game version, which surprisingly has a story mode. The Legendary Edition has all of the DLC.
