We already know that Hugh Jackman isn't interested in returning as Wolverine any time soon. But what if he played a completely different X-Men character who is still connected to the mutant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? An interesting fan art imagines the Logan star as the new Ultimate Cable and it's an amazing idea we're beginning to like.

It's an awesome idea that would introduce a truly cool character into the MCU who has almost the same powers as Wolverine. In the comics, James Howlett is the Wolverine from the future who has three retractable claws in his right arm. He also has a metal arm and just like Wolverine, has delayed aging, superhuman acute senses, and heightened strength. Unfortunately, his regenerative healing has been absorbed by Apocalypse.
For now, this is just an idea that seems like a great way to introduce Ultimate Cable into the MCU. However, it is still unclear if Jackman would be interested in playing a different superhero. Nevertheless, we're hoping that Marvel Studios considers this and makes it a reality once the X-Men are ready for the MCU debut in the future.
People are still hoping for Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine in the MCU. Some believe that the Greatest Showman actor should reunite with Ryan Reynolds in the planned Deadpool 3. However, this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.
