A lot of Star Wars fans are looking forward to the release of Ahsoka in just a few weeks. Not only because it will be Ahsoka Tano's first show as the main lead, but it will also feature the return of the beloved characters from Rebels.

Thanks to a merch leak, we also learned recently that Anakin Skywalker is officially confirmed to be part of the series although it is unknown yet how many episodes will we see Hayden Christensen in the character.

Now, as we're heading closer to its arrival on Disney+, a new report has emerged which suggests that the series might also feature the return of another beloved character in the franchise that we were not expecting to see.

Ahsoka Will Reportedly Feature a Deceased Obi-Wan Kenobi

A recent report from Making Star Wars (via Bespin Bulletin) laid out more details surrounding their scoop from a while ago when they revealed that Ahsoka will feature a fight scene between Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano in Mustafar similar to the climax of Revenge of the Sith.

This time around, they added that a deceased Obi-Wan Kenobi was present during the filming of the scenes and they shot it in two ways: one with a dummy and one with a pile of clothes like in A New Hope.

"They filmed a sequence where Ahsoka sees herself on Mustafar fighting Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader before he’s in the suit. They are new scenes. They had a dummy for a dead Kenobi and they had clothes for a dead Kenobi," they said in the daily podcast.

"They had two ideas there. One is Anakin literally kills Kenobi in that fight where the idea would be Ahsoka and Kenobi confront Darth Vader. Another is he turns into a pile of clothes just like he always did – he becomes one with the Force at that time in the narrative."

However, they also noted that the scene was not an extended sequence and fans should temper their expectations on how they will play out. There is also no mention of whether Ewan McGregor's likeness was used for the dummy corpse of Kenobi.

If the scoop ends up being true, it sounds like we can expect a small dose of the beloved Jedi master when we watch the series which is also appropriate given Ahsoka and Anakin's history with the character and it doesn't feel like a cheap fan service.

It is also unlikely that we will see more Kenobi beyond this background appearance, but it is still an intriguing detail nonetheless and this could add a little more excitement for fans who are looking forward to the series.

Ahsoka is set to premiere with two episodes on Disney+ this August 23. You can check more details about it here.
