Disney’s Iwaju Explores the Story of Omotola Abike Martins in the City of Lagos
Iwaju is a Disney animated series set in the fictional futuristic and technological city of Lagos, Nigeria, where robot assistants, special flying cars, neon gates, and advanced drones, to name a few, exist.
The story centers around Omatola Abike Martins, or simply Tola. She is the 10-year-old daughter of Tunde Martins, who is a security tech genius and CTO of the only security company in Nigeria that uses blockchain and AI technologies to eradicate crime within the country.
Tola is a carefree, outgoing, and cheerful young girl, unlike her strict and serious father, who is always working.
She has a close friend named Bankole Adesola, or simply Kole, who is a house helper and a self-taught tech expert capable of fixing robots and such.
On Tola’s birthday, Tunde asked her to care for a strange Agama lizard in exchange for taking her to the mainland, particularly in Ajegunle.
What Tola doesn’t know is that the lizard is part of her father’s experiments and has high-tech skills and abilities.
While Lagos is a progressive and technologically advanced city, there are still a lot of beggars and opportunistic sellers trying to take advantage of each other.
Worse, there are a lot of kidnappings in the city, which explains Tunde’s concern over her daughter.
How Many Episodes Does Disney’s Iwaju Have?
Disney’s Iwaju has a total of six episodes with a runtime of 18 to 23 minutes each. It is a short animated series that viewers can watch in three hours.
Disney+ released all the series’ episodes on February 28, 2024.

- Episode 2 titled Bode introduces the young Bode and his motivations.
- Episode 3 titled Kole gives the viewers more information about Tola’s friend.

- Episode 5 titled Otin reveals the truth about the lizard’s abilities.
- Episode 6 titled Tola wraps up the story.
Will There Be More Episodes of Disney’s Iwaju? Our Predictions
So far, Iwaju has only six episodes, and it is unknown whether the producers will create more episodes for the series in the future.
On the bright side, if Iwaju becomes successful enough in terms of viewership and ratings, there’s a huge chance that it will be renewed similar to the other shows on the platform.
