House of the Dragon Episode 9 Reportedly Olivia Cooke's Final Episode Before Season 2

It's almost time for the penultimate episode of House of the Dragon and people are already looking forward to seeing the Green Council in action. However, Episode 9 is also going to be a bittersweet hour for fans supporting the Greens. There are speculations that the ninth episode will be the last one featuring Olivia Cooke before Alicent Hightower returns in Season 2.

Olivia Cooke was introduced as Alicent Hightower in House of the Dragon Episode 6, taking over the role that was first played by Emily Carey. Since then, people have seen a different side of Alicent as she becomes more assertive and determined to establish her children as King Viserys I Targaryen's successors.

Alicent's determination is finally set to pay off in House of the Dragon Episode 9 after she misunderstands Viserys' last words as confirmation that he wants their son Aegon II Targaryen to be king. So it's no surprise that the upcoming episode is titled The Green Council as it will see Alicent and Otto Hightower work together to ensure no one will stop them.

House of the Dragon Episode 9 is going to be all about the Greens and that means Alicent could take center stage. However, there are also speculations that Alicent and the rest of the Greens will be absent from the show's finale next week, which is titled The Black Queen. This means Olivia Cooke will not reappear until the second season.

It's unfortunate that this will be Olivia Cooke's last episode this year but it's also exciting to know that the Greens and the Blacks are getting a full episode dedicated entirely to them. With that in mind, we can't wait to see Alicent and Team Green later today.

House of the Dragon Episode 9 is titled The Green Council and is set to premiere on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
