House of the Dragon Episode 10: The Black Queen Gets Ready for the Dance of the Dragons

House of the Dragon Episode 10 is finally here and it is clear that the Black Queen is ready to go to war. It doesn't quite start out this way but after what happened in the season finale, the Game of Thrones prequel made it undeniable that the Dance of the Dragons has started.

In House of the Dragon Episode 10, Lucerys Velaryon tells his mother that he doesn't wish to be Lord of Driftmark. However, Rhaenyra Targaryen explains to him that his reluctance is understandable but he will need to accept his destiny. Still, now is not the time for tender moments as Rhaenys Velaryon has arrived with some bad news.

Rhaenys drops the bad news on Rhaenyra who then miscarries her sixth child. On the baby Visenya's funeral, Ser Erryk Cargill suddenly shows up with the Conqueror's crown and pledges his loyalty to Rhaenyra. Daemon promptly crowns Rhaenyra, declaring her the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

It's clear that Daemon is itching to go to war but Rhaenyra isn't ready to go there yet. When Otto Hightower arrives on Dragonstone, she displays restraint by simply ripping the pin of the Hand off him instead of ordering Syrax to burn him to the ground. She also considers the peaceful option, claiming that she doesn't want to plunge the Realm into war. Needless to say, her reluctance causes tension between her and Daemon.

Meanwhile, Lord Corlys Velaryon has finally recovered from his injuries and he immediately pledges his loyalty to Rhaenyra who realizes they will need to confirm their other allies. She agrees to send Jacaerys and Lucerys as messengers to House Arryn, Stark, and Baratheon, deciding that the latter is a safe one that Luke could easily handle.

This turns out to be a mistake because Aemond Targaryen is already at Storm's End where he threatens Lucerys yet again. Although Lord Borros Baratheon stops them from fighting each other, Aemond chases after Luke and Arrax and Vhagar kills the boy and his dragon.

House of the Dragon Episode 10 concludes with Daemon informing Rhaenyra of Luke's death and we see the Black Queen's furious face as she prepares for war.
