House of the Dragon: Fabien Frankel Weighs in on Criston Cole Killing Lord Beesbury

There is little doubt that House of the Dragon doesn't shy away from killing off characters in the same manner as Game of Thrones. For instance, people were already expecting the loyal Lord Lyman Beesbury to meet his end as soon as he opposed the Green Council's plans to install Prince Aegon II Targaryen to the Iron Throne.

But did Ser Criston Cole intend to kill the Lord of Honeyholt or was it all just a tragic accident? Fabien Frankel has weighed in on his character's actions that led to the death of Lord Beesbury.

Fabien Frankel recently spoke to The New York Times where he addressed several questions about Criston Cole. For instance, Frankel was asked whether Criston meant to kill Beesbury and the House of the Dragon actor insists that fans should decide on that.

“I don’t want to say. If it comes from me, then it’s decided, and I’d rather House of the Dragon fans, who are so astute, watch it and decide for themselves,” Frankel said.

If you watched the penultimate episode of House of the Dragon, Criston moves in to make Beesbury quiet down by violently shoving the man's head down on the marble that the Small Council members place on the table. It looked like another accident as Criston lost control in a similar way when Joffrey Lonmouth told him he knew about Criston and Rhaenyra Targaryen.

At this point, it looks like these little accidents will be a recurring problem for Criston Cole and we might see him lose control all over again in House of the Dragon Season 2.

The latest episode of House of the Dragon is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 10 is titled The Black Queen and will premiere on HBO on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
