Here's What Vanessa Hudgens Looks Like As The Batman's Catwoman

Rumor has it that Vanessa Hudgens is being considered for the role of Catwoman in highly-anticipated The Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson with Matt Reeves at the helm. Now, we are treated with an image showing what the Polar star will look like as the beloved character.

The image, shared on Instagram, was edited by Australia-based digital artist Mizuri. People seem to be generally pleased with it and it may even convince fans who don't think the High School Musical alum will be able to pull it off.

Catwoman is one of the most popular characters in the Batman comic book mythos, so fans hope that The Batman will bring in an actress who has what it takes to capture the personality and menace of the character. Whether or not Hudgens is the perfect fit is unknown yet, but Warner Bros. seems to think so. No other actresses have been attached to the Catwoman role.

The actress has tried her hand on comic book adaptations in recent years, taking part in the short-lived DC Comics series Powerless and more recently, the Netflix film Polar. However, this will be the first role where she will play a much more mainstream character in what is imagined to be a high-profile movie.

Very much like Pattinson's casting as the new Dark Knight, Hudgens' involvement in The Batman movie is still up in the air at the moment. The Twilight alum's casting appears to be much more concrete than that of Hudgens at this time even though the decisions regarding both were made back in January. This could mean that things may have changed along the way or there is no deal between the actress and Warner Bros. just yet.

The Batman will reportedly focus on the detective side of the hero with many of his infamous villains like Penguin, Bane, and Scarecrow also set to appear. Josh Gad, Theo Rossi, and Toby Kebbell are reportedly being considered for these roles. Jason Clarke and Keri Russell will apparently play Thomas and Martha Wayne.

The Batman is set for release in 2021 with filming reportedly set to begin summer next year.
