Henry Cavill Sparks Superman Hopes by Posing Next to Man of Steel Statue

Ben Affleck may be out as Batman officially, but everyone still has hopes that Henry Cavill will return as the Man of Steel. Just in, Cavill posted a photo of himself posing next to a statue of his version of Superman.

While there were reports last year that have come out that Cavill had quit the Superman role to be in Netflix's The Witcher, it seems that there was a bit of miscommunication. I think the more accurate report is, WB has no current plans for Superman, so Cavill decided to find different work in the meantime. When WB decides to bring back the Man of Steel, then Cavill will come onboard.

It was said that Cavill's Superman was also set to make a cameo in Shazam!, but he had to refuse because of his schedule with Witcher. With Shazam! getting an extended reshoot schedule though, a lot of fans were hoping that Cavill was able to make the time to make just one small cameo. Heck, he doesn't even need to be in Superman garb. I'll be happy just to see him as Clark Kent.

For now, all we can do is wait. After the debacle of Justice League, the DCEU had to make a major overhaul. Good news is, Aquaman did pretty well, and now all eyes are set on the release of Shazam! this coming April. Let's hope DC doesn't lose its footing again.

Shazam! comes out April 5.
