Henry Cavill Rumored to Appear for a Superman vs. Shazam Showdown

Warner Brother might not have another Man of Steel movie lined up for the DC Extended Universe, but word on the street has it that the studio may be in need of Henry Cavill's Superman, this time in the sequel to Shazam!.

According to a report by Cosmic Book News, word on the street has it that Cavill's version of the Man of Steel may very well appear in Shazam 2, this time as the villain of the upcoming comic book movie. Rumor has it that the Caped Crusader will find himself under the control of Mister Mind, one of the primary villains of Captain Marvel.

To those who are unfamiliar with DC lore, Mister Mind is the lone survivor of a race of alien worms with high intelligence and telepathic powers. The villain was teased in the post-credits sequence for Shazam! and now word has it that the alien worm will take control of Superman for a small scene in Shazam 2.

This shouldn't really come as a surprise because the Man of Steel did make a small cameo in the first Shazam movie – the only thing was that the role wasn't actually played by Cavill. Of course, we have to remind fans that they ought t take the report with a grain of salt. One can't be entirely sure of anything until DC sends out an official confirmation.

Still, we'd definitely want to see Superman make an official appearance in Shazam 2. The heroes have always been closely tied together, and it'd be great to see a showdown between the two.

Shazam 2 has yet to receive a release date but we'll update fans as soon as we get word.
