Harley Quinn Is Feminist Sexy In New Concept Art For Birds Of Prey

Warner Brothers may have yet to release the first full trailer for Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) but it looks like fans are getting an idea of what Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) looks like in her full outfit for the movie.

Concept artist Greg Hopwood just recently took to Twitter to share some concept art that he worked on for the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie, and in it, fans get to see Harley in more or less the very same outfit that was featured in Birds of Prey's first teaser.

Check it out down here:

Though some traditional fans are complaining that DC isn't doing justice by the character by avoiding her classic outfit, others are spreading nothing but love for Harley's colorful new look. There was a whole lot of appreciation over Harley's Birds of Prey costume the first time that it appeared in the DCEU entry's teaser trailer. Sure, the outfit could be considered sexy, but it comes from a lot less of the male gaze as Harley's little number in the contentious Suicide Squad movie.

Fans praised for the fun and more feminist approach to Harley, with the film's costume designer Erin Benach noting that "That's what happens when you have a female producer, director, writer."

For those who haven't been following the project, Birds of Prey will feature the unlikely team-up between Harley Quinn, Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) as they try to rescue a young Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) from Gotham's vicious crime lord, Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).

Birds of Prey is set for release on February 7, 2020.
