Hamilton Star Reportedly In Talks to Join Fantastic Four

For the past several weeks, we've been hearing a lot of rumors and speculations about the casting of the MCU reboot of Fantastic Four with different names being thrown around who may end up playing the members of the First Family.

So far, Marvel Studios remains mum about the details of the casting as it is still reportedly underway, but online scoopers have started to reveal names that are allegedly being cast on the project.

Now, another name has surfaced around the rumor mill as insider @MyTimeToShineH tweeted that Hamilton and Snowpiercer star Daveed Diggs is currently in talks to play The Thing/Ben Grimm in Fantastic Four.

They also claimed that negotiations with Mila Kunis, who was previously rumored to be in talks to play the gender-swapped characters, did not work which is why Diggs became the new actor that Marvel is eyeing on the role.

We do have to take note that the rumor has not been confirmed yet by the major trades nor Marvel Studios have made any comments so we still have to take this with a grain of salt.

However, with the reports that Marvel Studios and director Matt Shakman are looking for a Jewish actor to play Ben Grimm, Diggs does certainly qualify since he is half-Jewish and, as we have also seen now, he is a very talented actor as well.

Diggs is also on Disney's radar now since he recently starred as Sebastian in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. He also had a voice role in the Pixar film Soul and contributed to the soundtrack of Zootopia.

The film is currently set to begin production in London early next year although it might get delayed due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike which halted any writing work across the industry.

For now, let's just wait and see whether Diggs does end up getting cast in the role as we are getting more details about its casting in the coming weeks and there are rumors that they might announce the cast during San Diego Comic-Con.
