Groot Almost Gave Eitri New Hands in Infinity War Concept Art

Though it had been months since Avengers: Infinity War premiered, we have just recently gotten the release of the art book. Some concept art has given us a look at what the film could have been, and it was revealed that Groot almost have Eitri (Peter Dinklage) new hands to forge with.

Check it out:

As it turns out, it was almost made that Thanos mutilated Eitri's hands instead of him turning them to stone/metal. Groot would have then had to climb on Eitri's back and provided the hands Eitri would use to forge Stormbreaker.

I would have actually liked to have this in the finished film because we would have seen Eitri at work. I figure it would have been better than just watching him tell people what to do and smashing the mold with his ‘hands.' Wither way, Dinklage was still fun to watch in the film, and he had his share of memorable lines.

Some concept art also revealed that there would have been other dwarf survivors along with Eitri, but Eitri would have still been a giant dwarf. One thing I was curious about, if Thanos was all about balance, then why did he have to kill all of the dwarves as compared to leaving only half the population alive?

We don't know if Eitri will make a return in Avengers 4, but I would love to have Dinklage return to the MCU one way or another. If anything, he could be part of the epilogue when everything gets back to normal. Who knows?

Avengers 4 is set to come out May 3, 2019.
