Thanksgiving is upon us, so everyone has a chance to get off work and relax for once, which isn't always a bad thing. While you're home though, it can be hard to find something to do since family will be around and they will want to watch sports or something. Thankfully, if you're a Pokemon fan, Twitch has something for you.
Starting on Thanksgiving Day, Twitch will be streaming the first five seasons of Pokemon for all to see. Those that are curious about Ash's first few days with Pikachu can check in on Thanksgiving to feel nostalgic or even introduce the anime to kids who are only familiar with Sun and Moon, or X and Y in terms of anime.
According to Polygon, Twitch will start airing the first five seasons of the Pokémon anime starting at 1 p.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 22. The original run of episodes will run until Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. ET, before picking up again on Dec. 24 for a Christmastime special. That will end on Jan. 3, 2019.
It's kind of amazing to know that Pokemon is still going strong, decades after it debuted on the small screen. Sure, it might not be the worldwide craze it once was but the fact that the series still has multiple game releases, an ongoing anime that has yet to end, a successful trading card game, and multiple movies, not to mention a live-action film where Ryan Reynolds voices a Pikachu, and it's clear that Pokemon will be around for years to come.
Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee are now available on Nintendo Switch. Detective Pikachu will hit theaters on May 11, 2019.
