Godzilla: King of the Monsters Director Imagines Epic Monster Universe And Star Wars Crossover

Earlier this week, Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Mike Dougherty decided to take to social media to propose a Monster Universe crossover with the Avengers. Now, the filmmaker imagines a Kaiju experience for the Star Wars franchise.

Taking to Twitter, Dougherty openly expressed interest in a Godzilla and Star Wars crossover event after declaring that Godzilla + anything would make any movie infinitely better.

The director then echoed the sentiments of a fan sharing the idea of a Star Wars vs Godzilla movie along with a great picture of the King of Monsters taking down a Star Destroyer with his sheer power. In the background we even get to see Darth Vader looking in awe at the battle between beast and Imperial machine.

"Speaking of Star Wars vs Godzilla, here's a nice picture of Godzilla destroying a large ship," the fan wrote in his original post.

It's a beautifully created image, one that brings life to the whole concept of Star Wars x Godzilla. While it's hard to imagine Lucasfilm actually looking for a crossover with Legendary Picture's Monster Universe, some fans do admit that it would be interesting to see everyone's favorite galaxy far, far away pillaged by Kaiju. Sure, we do know that the Force is powerful and that the Empire and the First Order draws its strength in numbers, but we're fairly certain that both Sith and Jedi are going to have trouble bringing down a 90,000 metric ton and 108.2 m tall monster.

What do you think? Would you want to see a Star Wars and Godzilla crossover?
