Salvation comes in the blink of an eye. A new Atlanta-based animation studio, Lightfold, had just released their first official trailer for their short debut, Godspeed.

It is worth mentioning right off the bat that the creator behind the upcoming epic animation was also behind the popular Final Space sci-fi series, which is available to stream on Netflix.

Now comes a new era for the newly established Lightfold Studios as they broaden their horizons with Godspeed. Here is everything you need to know about the animated series' release date, cast, plot, trailer, and more!

Olan Rogers, who is best known for creating the successful toon Final Space, is bringing fans a new sci-fi adventure story and that is Godspeed.

Before we get into detail regarding the animated film, Rogers' newest animation project is slated to release on December 15, 2023, at 11 AM E.T.

Final Space Cancelled After Three Seasons

Rogers' Final Space series, unfortunately, got canceled after its three-season run back in September 2021.

The creator originally posted the show as a web series on his personal Facebook channel back in 2010 bearing the title Gary Space. Before long, Rogers rebooted the series and renamed it Final Space.

After premiering Final Space Season 1 on TBS in 2018, the show went under the Adult Swim umbrella and would get renewed for a second and third season.

As much as fans wanted to see Final Space get a fourth season, Adult Swim canceled it due to the proposed merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery that was announced in 2021.

Fret not, though, as Rogers promised in September 2022 that the actual finale for Final Space will be written off in the form of a graphic novel as a vow to keep fighting for his series.

Meanwhile, he's been busy writing more sci-fi adventure series like Godspeed.

Featured within Godspeed's 2-minute trailer is the project's voice cast, which includes Bryce Charles, Troy Baker (The Last of Us), Claudia Black (Farscape, The Nevers), Coty Galloway & Olan Rogers (Final Space), and a 'few more surprises.'

The only confirmed role thus far is Bryce Charles, who voices the main character, Iris, a young woman navigating their crumbling world alongside her karaoke-bot sidekick, Bowie.

While the other voice roles have yet to be confirmed, Troy Baker, who voiced and played the role of Joel Miller in the Naughty Dog video game, The Last of Us, is likely playing the estranged father of Iris.
