After it got renewed for a second season last year, Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2 is being hyped up with a new visual that teases the beach adventures that the cast will go on when the anime premieres this October.
Recently, a new visual featuring the four main girls of the anime was shared.
Along with this, there’s also a new trailer that showed new footage, giving fans a taste of what to expect.
Harem Anime Girlfriend, Girlfriend Teases Beach-Themed Season 2
Girlfriend, Girlfriend (or Kanojo mo Kanojo in Japanese) is a harem romantic comedy anime that began with its first season in Summer 2021.
It may have taken a year, but in September 2022, the show was finally confirmed to get a second season.
While the cast from Season 1 will return to voice their respective characters, Season 2 will be animated by a new studio.
The change in the studio can be seen in the new visual, which mirrors the first season’s KV.
If you look closely, this new beach-themed visual features an art style change that’s apparent in the hair and the eyes of the characters:
Specifically, the second season is animated by SynergySP, the studio behind titles like Too Cute Crisis and A Couple of Cuckoos.
Changing studios is fairly common for new seasons. Some noticeable examples are The Quintessential Quintuplets and OreGairu, both of which underwent dramatic changes in art styles between seasons.
Aside from the new studio, the Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2 visual also features the four girls in beach attire, indicating that there will be some summer fun between them and protagonist Naoya Mukai.

Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2 Confirms October Release
It’s fair to say that Girlfriend, Girlfriend got a mixed reception among international anime fans.
After all, the series currently has a 6.54 rating on MyAnimeList. Despite this, it seems the first season was successful enough to get renewed.
It might not be at the top of the list of most anticipated Fall 2023 anime, but for harem anime fans who want more hijinks between Naoya Mukai and the four girls obsessed with him, Season 2 promises to deliver more of that.

Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2 will premiere in October 2023. Though there’s no word yet on the show’s exact premiere date.
There’s also no word yet on which platform it will be streamed on outside Japan.
But given that the first season streamed on Crunchyroll, it’s likely that the second season will be available on the platform as well.
