Whether you'd like to admit it or not, Gina Carano's unceremonious firing from Disney has left quite a void in the Star Wars franchise. Not only that, but it also ruined Lucasfilm's initial plans of doing a spinoff centered on the New Republic marshal.

Unsurprisingly, fans are still hopeful that they'll see Cara's return down the line and while that doesn't seem like a possibility for now, it turns out that the character is still featured in Star Wars merchandise.

Just when you thought Cara had been written off completely from the Star Wars franchise, the fan-favorite character is apparently featured in a recent pin set called 'Nevarro: Home to the Imperial Remnant' (via ScreenGeek), the merch highlights several characters from The Mandalorian and was first spotted last month at Disney’s Walt Disney World Resort.

Of course, it's safe to say that the set was manufactured prior to Carano's ousting but it's still quite surprising how the merch hasn't been pulled, especially since it's been over two years since the incident and it bears the actor's likeness.

As for Dune's status in the franchise, The Mandalorian's divisive third season pretty much confirmed that she's still somewhere in the galaxy and chances are, she could make her return in a future project, maybe even Dave Filoni's MandoVerse crossover film.

The only question is, which actor could step up and play the part? I guess only time will tell.

Meanwhile, all three seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney+.
