Gina Carano Slams Star Wars Firing Backlash Amid Controversy: “I’m Not Sorry”

Former The Mandalorian star Gina Carano has been gaining a lot of social media controversy lately, and though the actress is no stranger of being at the receiving end of the backlash since her ousting from Disney in 2021, Carano takes her socio-political stands to heart, this time, by calling out a The Hollywood Reporter journalist on Twitter.

It all began when the journalist in question tweeted on how Carano was “close” to owning a Star Wars series and personal merchandise, had she just not “fumbled the bag” in which the press member mocked at how Carano basically ruined her own career, one of the latest being Terror on the Prairie, merely making $804 at box office. In response to this, Carano defends herself by calling out that the journalist is simply a “random troller” out to “harass” her, in an attempt to point out that his tweet does nothing but “spread hate” and “ignorance” on her past.

Ultimately, what ended the conversation was when Carano posted a screenshot of the said journalist blocking her on Twitter, similar to what she had done previously to Star Wars fans allegedly cyberbullying her.

The Cara Dune actor’s strong hold on her beliefs and previous social media controversies such as refusal to wear a mask during pandemic, spreading fake news of a mass voter fraud during the 2020 election, and even sharing (supporting) transphobic views, do not seem to faze her, as she had even claimed that being a “conservative” in 2021 was being a Jew during the Holocaust, an antisemitic Instagram story she had also been marked on (via The Direct).

The Deadpool actress was initially centered in a rumored spin-off set in The Mandalorian timeline, in which Rangers of the New Republic (the aforementioned spin-off) would have expanded the MandoVerse.

For now, The Mandalorian Season 3 is slated for release on Disney+ on March 1, 2023.
