Gege Akutami Confirms Jujutsu Kaisen's Strongest Character is NOT Satoru Gojo

The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is undoubtedly complicated to new readers and viewers who are just beginning to get an understanding of curses, cursed energy, Domain Expansions, and cursed techniques. Luckily, Gege Akutami has just simplified things by answering something an important question: Who is the strongest character? Interestingly, it’s not Satoru Gojo.

It has already been established that Satoru Gojo is the most powerful sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen because of his remarkably unbeatable technique. But despite having the power of Limitless and the Six Eyes, Gege Akutami confirms that Gojo isn’t the strongest character in the manga and anime.

Gege Akutami was recently interviewed by Shueisha where he was asked to rank the Jujutsu Kaisen character in terms of strength (via Twitter). The mangaka pretty much confirmed that Toji Fushiguro and Maki Zenin are at the same level in grip strength and in hand-to-hand combat without cursed energy or weapons.

Interestingly, Akutami also pointed out that if you count Toji and Maki out, Kenjaku in Suguru Geto’s body has the strongest grip strength in the manga. He also added that Kenjaku is on the same level as Gojo in hand-to-hand combat without cursed energy or weapons.

The mangaka further confirmed that Kenjaku and Gojo are followed by Naoya Zenin, Megumi Fushiguro, and Mai Zenin.

It's interesting to note that manga readers are already well aware of just how strong Toji Fushiguro is. Luckily for anime-only fans, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is set to introduce Toji and his arrival promises one of the most shocking fights in the manga. With that in mind, we can't wait for the show's return next year.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. However, the anime is expected to return in Winter 2023.
