While the manga’s readers are no doubt excited for the upcoming anime, it’s also one that many fantasy fans are looking forward to given its unique premise.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is no doubt one of the highlights of the Fall 23 season, thanks in part to its extra-long first episode.
Specifically, it was revealed before that Frieren Episode 1 will be a two-hour special, effectively making it a feature-length episode.
While this is still rare, more and more shows have gotten feature-length premiere episodes.
The biggest example of this is Oshi no Ko, the smash hit Spring 23 series that was arguably one of the season’s highlights. It’s fair to say that its shocking first episode was the main reason it got a lot of attention.
Aside from the two-hour first episode, Frieren is also shaping up to be a highlight of Fall 23 thanks to its interesting fantasy premise.
Instead of following a group of adventurers whose goal is to save the world, Frieren’s story is set decades after the defeat of the world’s villain, which gives the show a more somber mood.

To hype up the show, several trailers have been released over the past months.
Now, the latest promotion for the anime is a key visual featuring the main character Frieren along with her original party members.
This new visual recreates the manga’s first volume cover, albeit with some differences such as a slightly different perspective.

Given the manga’s following, this new visual got a lot of attention on Twitter as it amassed over 20k likes in just a day.
Based on the reactions, it seems that the visual did its job in hyping up the premiere even more.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will premiere in late September this year. The show will be streamed in the US and other selected regions on Crunchyroll.
