Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Episode Count Confirmed
The total episode count of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 1 has been confirmed. It will have 28 episodes, running for two consecutive cours, from Fall 2023 to Winter 2024.
This episode count was confirmed by the Blu-ray and DVD announcements on Frieren's official website. Seven volumes will be released, with the first one coming out on January 24, 2024.
Two cours mean Frieren will continue broadcasting its episodes in two consecutive anime seasons, whereas a split cour means Frieren will take a break (usually one anime season) before the second cour airs.
After Frieren Part 1 (1–16 episodes) was finished, a new promotional video has been released for Part 2:
Could There Be More Frieren Episodes in the Future?
There’s a huge chance that Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will have more episodes in the future due to the amount of interest and hype it continues to receive, not only in Japan but around the world.
A lot of factors need to be taken into consideration before doing more episodes. The first one is the source material.
Fortunately, Frieren has an abundance of chapters and story arcs ready for anime adaptations. The manga has over 11 volumes, with more than 100 chapters to date!
It is up to the creators and producers, particularly Madhouse, to do their best to animate Frieren. The question now is: can they keep up the animation quality of Frieren from start to finish without delaying its episodes?
If they can do it, they also have the potential to work on more episodes of Frieren in the future.
When Are New Episodes of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Released?
New episodes of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End are expected to drop every Friday in all regions, including the US, the UK, Europe, and Japan.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is streaming on Crunchyroll with English subtitles and in English dub.
The anime is also available on Muse Asia’s official YouTube account for Asian regions outside of Japan, such as Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The anime took a one-week break before releasing its 17th episode on January 5, 2024. The series also revealed a Christmas visual, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas:
In Japan, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End aired its 2-hour pilot episode on Nippon Television’s Kinyo Roadshow Programming Block.
The rest of the anime’s episodes will then air on NTV’s Friday Anime Night Programming Block.
