The Seven Deadly Sins’ new anime has premiered in Japan, and for those waiting for an official international release, it’s finally coming soon. Netflix recently announced that The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse will be streamed on the platform soon.

This was revealed via the official Netflix Anime X (formerly Twitter) account. It was confirmed there that the new anime is ‘coming soon’, though no specific release details have been shared so far.

The Seven Deadly Sins is a popular shonen franchise that became a global hit thanks in large part to the anime series that began in 2014.

The manga that it’s based on ended its run in March 2020. A bit over a year after the manga ended, the anime’s story also reached its conclusion.

That did not mark the end of the series though. The Seven Deadly Sins soon got an anime film titled Grudge of Edinburgh, which is set 14 years after the original anime’s conclusion and follows Meliodas’ son, Tristan.

Grudge of Edinburgh was split into two parts which were released on Netflix in December 2022 and August 2023, respectively.

This film was followed up by the sequel anime series titled Four Knights of the Apocalypse, which is based on the ongoing sequel manga of the same name.

Instead of following Tristan, this new series stars Percival, a young boy who discovers that he is destined to become one of the four knights that will plunge the world into destruction.

The Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga was revealed to be getting an anime adaptation from Telecom Animation Film in May 2022. Finally, the anime adaptation aired in Japan on October 8.

While fans in Japan can watch the first two episodes now, international viewers still have no way of watching it officially. But that’s about to change as Netflix confirmed that it will stream the anime soon.

Netflix being the show’s official streaming partner is expected. After all, the original anime and The Seven Deadly Sins films are available to stream on the platform.

Sadly, there’s no word yet on a streaming release date for Four Knights of the Apocalypse on Netflix. Fingers crossed that it won’t be long now until new episodes are released.
