It has been over a year now since the anime was announced, and finally, The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse announced its October 2023 release date.

While the announcement was made around the same time as many Anime Expo reveals, the show’s release date wasn’t revealed at AX 2023.

Instead, the show’s staff announced its premiere on the anime's official website and Twitter account.

With this Seven Deadly Sins sequel coming later this year, fans have even more to look forward to as the next Grudge of Edinburgh part’s release is just a month away.

The Seven Deadly Sins is an anime based on the hit Weekly Shonen Magazine manga of the same name.

While the manga may have ended over three years ago, the story continues in the Four Knights of the Apocalypse sequel manga.

On the anime side, the manga’s entire story was covered in the anime series which ended in June 2021. Though that wasn’t the end of the series as the anime’s story continued with Grudge of Edinburgh.

This two-part movie is set 14 years after the Demon Clan’s defeat, and it follows Meliodas’ son, Tristan. Its first part was released on Netflix on December 20, 2022.

Finally, the second part will also be streamed worldwide on Netflix this August.

Following the completion of this two-parter, fans can then look forward to the next anime series in the franchise.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse Announces October Release Date

As Four Knights of the Apocalypse is a sequel to the original Seven Deadly Sins anime, it will be set 16 years after the climactic fight against the Demon King. This means it is set two years after Grudge of Edinburgh.

Instead of following Tristan though, this new series stars Percival, a young boy who discovers that he is destined to be one of the four knights who will bring forth the apocalypse.

Unlike the Seven Deadly Sins anime which was animated by A-1 Pictures and Studio Deen, this upcoming anime is made by Telecom Animation Film, the studio behind shows such as Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse will release in October 2023, though there’s no word yet on the exact release date.

However, it’s expected that the series will be streamed on Netflix outside Japan.
