Fortnite is Gone and Only a Black Hole Remains

Fortnite is dead. Or is it? Actually, no, it probably isn't because there's just too much money to make from this hit free-to-play game. Still, Epic Games are proving to be very good at this whole video game marketing thing and we're all looking forward to seeing what plans the developers have for this shooter. Only time will tell but for now, we'll just have to settle for looking at the abyss.

The game's most recent event was called The End and, so far, it seems like they mean it. Ever since the event has ended, fans haven't been able to play the game, only seeing a black hole. As of this writing, it's been about 20 hours and nothing new has been shown. In a genius move, the Fortnite Twitter account has pinned a video showing the black hole with something new likely coming in the near future.

We're probably getting some kind of massive update that changes everything, with rumors that the game could end up getting a name change. Nothing is certain yet but we'll have to wait for this black hole to do something soon. At the least, it's an exciting time to be a Fortnite fan and the game will likely remain a hit for years to come.

Some would argue that games like Apex Legends or Overwatch are better, at least until the whole Blizzard-China debacle for the latter, but you can't deny how popular Fortnite is. Whatever happens next, we'll be sure to keep our eyes on it.

Fortnite can be downloaded but can't be played, at least for now. The game is usually available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
