Former DC President Deletes Her Twitter After Getting Backlash for Praising Todd Phillips’ Joker

The DCEU admittedly still doesn't have any solid footing on the ground, but they have been making some interesting moves by making a movie in an alternate timeline via Todd Phillips' Joker. Apparently, former president of DC Entertainment Diane Nelson is also onboard with the project, and thinks this is the direction they should have taken the character since Nolan.

She posted (via Batman-News):

LOVE IT! Great story, great actor, specific and string vision from talented director. What DC should have been doing since Nolan. Even if die hard fans struggle with his vision. #goodmoviesaregoodmovies

This was then followed with criticism from some fans saying that she's putting down Zack Snyder and his DCEU. The backlash seemed to have gotten to Nelson apparently, as she's deleted her Twitter for her comments. She did have this to say about working with Snyder:

I happen to count Zack Snyder among those things, if you are insinuating otherwise. No snake here….

With the DCEU's failures being blamed on the higher ups for constantly meddling with the original plan, I can understand where all the backlash is coming from. I just don't get why Nelson would be bombarded with so many negative comments that she would actually up and quit Twitter. I guess she's worked in the industry long enough to know that she doesn't have to take anyone's flak.

Nelson has been working an astounding 22 years for DC Entertainment before she left earlier this year.

A lot of outrage is now seeping out online after Nelson's exit. We'll just have to wait and see how this all goes.

Joker is set to come out Oct. 4, 2019.
