Former CLC member Jang Ye Eun shared her thoughts about finally being able to promote the way she wants to as an idol.

Jang Ye Eun started her career in the K-pop industry with the Cube Entertainment girl group, CLC, in 2015. She was promoted alongside Seunghee, Sorn, Seungyeon, Eunbin, Yujin, and Elkie for seven years until their disbandment in 2022.

Nearly one year after CLC broke up, Jang Ye Eun officially started her career as a soloist with her debut solo EP.

Former CLC Member Jang Ye Eun Opens Up About Being a Soloist

On Thursday, Jang Ye Eun officially released her solo album, The Beginning, and its solo debut track Cherry Coke.

During an interview with The Korea Times, she noted how her solo journey would finally allow her to show her authentic side.

"I did not have many opportunities to reveal my bright side in the past, but now I do," she said. "With my solo release, I want to highlight my liveliness and bubbly side, showing diverse aspects of myself. I think I am both calm and cheerful."

It took her 8 years before she was able to show who she truly was as an idol.

Jang Ye Eun openly expressed how pressured and thrilled she felt while working on her solo debut. Although she is taking on a new journey now, she revealed that she keeps in touch with her former CLC members, who still support and encourage her in her new endeavor.

Jang Ye Eun Writes Song for Fans

Jang Ye Eun's solo albums include Cherry Coke and Strange Way to Love. The latter, per the idol, is reportedly a track for her fans.

She reportedly came up with the song due to her desire to create a song about the love between idols and fans.

"People who have never fallen in love with celebrities may find it difficult to understand, but I believe it is one of the purest forms of love. So I wrote the lyrics based on my own experience, hoping I can repay the love I have received so far. It was not a very daunting mission for me since I just had to talk about what I have undergone," she went on.

Jang Ye Eun worked with award-winning musicians on her album, including music producer Ryan Jhun. He famously contributed to the success of NCT 127's Kick It and IVE's After LIKE.
