First Pokemon Masters Event Has Players Team With Blue and His Pidgeot

Pokemon Masters is already off to a great start, getting 10 million downloads not long after its launch. The game has also proven to be a hit with fans of this franchise, since it helps us learn about these trainers more, something the original games don't do. It hasn't even been that long and we're already getting an event, which will have your player avatar exploring the Pasio region with Red's rival Blue.

While Red has his Charizard, fans might find it jarring to see Blue with a Pidgeot of all Pokemon. Granted, Pidgeot is far from weak and is usually most people's go-to Pokemon when they need someone to learn Fly (unless they have a Charizard), but it's not the Pocket Monster most of us expected Blue to use. Blue will probably have some story events like the other characters, which should be fun.

Also, the event will likely lead to Blue being more readily available for the game's Sync Pair Searches. Fans of Blue (or Gary from the Pokemon anime) will want to get him.

There are times when Masters feels like a proper JRPG since it's less about training Pokemon and more about choosing the proper Sync Pair for battles. It's actually a quality mobile game and if you play your cards right, you won't have to get any in-game purchases. Hopefully, the mobile game's quality continues to go up.
