The New Pokemon Anime Will Cover Every Region, Including Sword and Shield's Galar Region

Fans are looking forward to the next Pokemon anime now that Sun and Moon is heading toward its endgame. While most of us expected Ash to head to the Galar region to hype up Pokemon Sword and Shield, it looks like the anime might be going towards a new direction. Apparently, the new anime will simply be called Pocket Monsters and will visit every region, including the Galar region?

This has led a lot of fans to wonder what is going to happen to Ash. Not many details were revealed but many are speculating that we could get a new protagonist or an anthology-style anime where the lead changes. Others are also thinking that this will be set in the same continuity as I Choose You, which has Ash not meet Misty or Brock and has him relatively fresh for new adventures.

It's odd how the new Pokemon anime will focus on all of the regions and not just Galar, which will be the next big region featured in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Why The Pokemon Company feels that every other region needs to be featured is a bit odd but hey, we're not running the show. Some fans are hoping that this means every region will be available in Sword and Shield but don't get your hopes up.

Honestly, if the new anime means Ash will finally win a Pokemon league then that's fine. I feel that Ash has been 10 for too long, so a change in character could help out a lot. Here's hoping that the new Pokemon anime is of quality.

No release date for the new Pokemon anime, Pocket Monsters, was released.
