Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 Production Not at 100% Due to COVID-19

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a clear Game of the Year contender and though it might have some stiff competition in The Last of Us Part II, along with upcoming games like Ghost of Tsushima and Cyberpunk 2077, we're sure Cloud's adventure resonated strongly with those that played it. This is why we're all so excited for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 or whatever its title is going to be and Square Enix has assured fans that the sequel is being worked on.

Just not at 100% right now.

Before you get your pitchforks ready, no, they aren't delaying development on the sequel due to that Kingdom Hearts rhythm game but because of COVID-19. A new interview producer Yoshinori Kitase had with The Guardian revealed that everyone working on the game is doing it from the security of their homes due to the current pandemic. Without the operations of their usual offices, it's harder to work on an AAA game, which is likely why they can't go full 100% yet.

Still, the fact that they are still working on a sequel is great news since Final Fantasy VII Remake did so much to please older fans and newer ones. In fact, the older fans were in for quite the shocker when they saw some of the major changes made, particularly with Aerith and Sephiroth. Add some of the stellar characterizations for most of the major cast and you can't really blame anyone for being excited about the sequel.

It's not yet known when Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 will be coming out. Most of us are guessing that it will come to the PS5 while others think it might be one of the last cross-gen games for PS4. PC and Xbox One fans are still waiting for their port of the game, which will probably come out next year.
