Extraction Director Says George Lucas' The Mandalorian Set Visit was Like Seeing 'Real Yoda'

We already know that George Lucas visited the set of The Mandalorian to keep an eye on what was happening on the show. But what was it like seeing the Star Wars creator walking around in your workplace? Sam Hargrave claims it was like the "real Yoda" had decided to drop by.

Hargrave served as the Second Unit Director on The Mandalorian Season 2 and he happened to be on the set when Lucas dropped by. Although the Extraction director "was working on another stage," he did get the chance to see the Star Wars creator.

"I did pass through, and I saw him there. He was actually – you would've thought that the real Yoda had showed up. I mean, he kind of did," Hargrave told Collider. He then admitted that the crew couldn't help but crowd around to get a glimpse at Lucas.

"There was more people there that day than any other day on any other, you know, episode of the whole season. That was as if you were at Comic-Con on the stage where he was. It was crazy," Hargrave said.

We can't really blame the production crew for wanting to see Lucas. After all, he's the man who created one of the most successful sci-fi franchises in history. Perhaps Hargrave was right in comparing Lucas' presence to Yoda considering that we'd all be in awe if we met the legendary Jedi Master.

Although it is still unclear whether Hargrave will be back for The Mandalorian Season 3, he already has his next project lined up. It was previously reported that Hargrave is expecting to begin work on Extraction 2 with Chris Hemsworth by fall this year.

The Mandalorian Season 3 has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, the series is expected to return on Disney+ in 2022.
