Pokemon Sword & Shield recently revealed a number of new Pokemon, including the two legendaries that will appear in the box art for both games. While both of the legendaries received a lot of positive fanfare, everyone couldn't help but notice how Zacian looks a lot like a certain Dark Souls boss that gave fans a lot of hell.
In fact, even Dark Souls publisher Bandai Namco acknowledged how similar the Pokemon looks to FromSoftware's monstrous creation. It's a neat bit of inspiration and fans are probably stoked to know that people in Game Freak play Dark Souls. That, or they just want to give their Pokemon weapons.
Also: Zamazenta looks way better, sorry people who plan on getting Sword.
New Pokemon aside, it looks like Sword & Shield are going to be huge steps for the franchise in terms of gameplay potential. The game will include roaming Pokemon as a feature, which was first introduced in Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee so it's good to see that return. Players will also get to turn their Pokemon into kaiju-sized monsters for a (literal) huge advantage over opponents, though it's a temporary power-up that will only last for three or so turns.
Pokemon Sword & Shield comes out on November 15.
