Next month, the upcoming MCU series Echo will finally premiere. Aside from being the first project under the new "Marvel Spotlight" banner, it will also be the first MCU series that is rated TV-MA.

As teased by the first trailer the series will have a more mature and darker tone compared to the other MCU releases and its violence is reminiscent of the Netflix Daredevil series.

With a few weeks left before its premiere, we now have a brand new look at the upcoming series as well as a new release date.

Echo Releases New Trailer, Sets New January 9 Premiere Date

Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for Echo titled "Rampage" which gave us a brand new look at Maya Lopez's solo adventure in the upcoming MCU series.

They also announced that all five episodes of the series will now premiere on January 9 at 6 PM PT on Disney+ and Hulu. It was previously set to release on January 10 at midnight.

The new one-minute-long preview was action-packed as it focused more on the different fight sequences that Maya is involved in. It also showed us a new look at Charlie Cox's cameo appearance as Daredevil who is donning his iconic red suit just like in the Netflix version.

Just like the first trailer, the new footage also suggested that the series is pulling no punches when it comes to the blood and violence, which is something that we're not accustomed to seeing in the MCU.

The release date change is an interesting move since it follows the pattern of Ahsoka and the second season of Loki where new episodes premiere at primetime, instead of midnight where most streamers usually drop their original content.

It is curious to see whether the series' new release date and time will have a positive effect on its viewership since some of the MCU's TV releases have not received ratings that are comparable to the other successful Disney+ originals.

However, it helps that all episodes will drop which would mean that viewers in areas such as the West Coast can easily binge it throughout the evening so perhaps it could make some impact.
