E3: Resident Evil 2 Remake Gets Trailer and January Release

After shocking fans with a completely new gameplay-style with Resident Evil 7, Capcom has decided to get a little nostalgic by showcasing the first trailer of the highly anticipated Resident Evil 2 remake. During Sony's E3 press conference, fans were very happy to see Leon S. Kennedy back in his policeman uniform as Raccoon City goes to hell.

Leon isn't the only familiar face we see, as Claire Redfield also appeared in the trailer. Since she was also playable in the original game, it would make a lot of sense for her to be playable again here. They could even divide the gameplay a bit; Leon handles the action segments while Claire does the scarier stuff.

We also get a tease for a hooded woman, who is most likely fan-favorite Ada Wong. She did debut in the original game after all and was playable in both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 6.

The trailer mostly showed off cinematics but if a few camera angles mean anything, it looks like the remake will be going back to the over-the-shoulder perspective that Resident Evil 4 made popular. It's a smart decision and should help balance both horror and action.

This awesome-looking remake of Resident Evil 2 comes out on January 25, 2019.
