Dredd Producer Teases Pilot for Series Judge Dredd: Mega-City One

Dredd (2012) has come out to be one of the most underappreciated comic book adaptations ever put to film, and everyone has been wondering when we're ever going to get a sequel. What's interesting is, it looks like the spinoff series if finally moving forward, and producer Jason Kingsley has dropped a teaser.

Check it out:

For anyone excited to see Karl Urban return as Judge Dredd, it's been reported last year that has no attachment to Mega-City One at all. He did tell Trek Movie back then:

"I'm not attached to it, although I did have a preliminary round of conversations with them… I am interested in doing it. There are a lot of great stories to tell there… their idea for Mega-City One is basically to build the show around more rookie judges and young, new judges and Dredd would come in and out and I said that I'll do it, but it has to be done in a meaningful way."

While it's still unclear whether Urban will return or not, I think that a lot of things have changed in development that could very well change his position when it comes to the show. After all, Dredd is the face of the franchise, and it would seem weird if he weren't included in one way or another.

Besides, it looks like Urban is now more open to appearing in TV series as compared to films. Just recently he starred in Amazon's The Boys, a series about regular people who hunt down superheroes for the collateral damage they've caused.

Hopefully Urban himself gives us an update on this Dredd series. No release date has been announced, but you can catch Urban in The Boys now on Amazon Prime Video.
