Fans had to endure a bit of wait, but finally, Dr. Stone: New World Part 2 has an official release date. The show’s return date was announced during a livestream that happened over the weekend.
Sadly, it won’t open right at the start of October. Instead, it will begin its run near the middle of the month.
Still, fans should be happy to know that the wait won’t be all that long, especially considering that the gap between the two cours is only one season long.
Dr. Stone: New World Reveals New Opening and Ending Themes
Dr. Stone is a popular shonen anime by TMS Entertainment (the studio behind Detective Conan and Rent-A-Girlfriend). The show began in 2019 with its first season, and it has gotten a new season every two years.
As expected, Dr. Stone returned with its third season earlier this year, and it is titled New World. Most fans anticipated that this would happen given that it has been two years since the show’s second season.
Unlike the second season which only had 11 episodes, New World is a treat for fans given that it’s a two-cour show. Now, the second cour has a new trailer, which you can watch here:
This latest trailer not only shows off new footage from the next set of episodes but also previews Part 2’s new opening and ending themes.
For its opening theme, the show enlisted Japanese singer Ryujin Kiyoshi (the singer of Loving Yamada at Lv999's ending) to perform the song Haruka.
Meanwhile, the new ending theme is titled Suki ni Shinayho and is performed by Anly (of Boruto and The Seven Deadly Sins fame).

It may not be as talked about as shows like Jujutsu Kaisen or Chainsaw Man, but Dr. Stone is still one of the biggest titles from Shonen Jump.
This is thanks in large part to the anime. After all, while the manga is no doubt a huge hit sales-wise, it ended back in March of last year.
Despite the manga being over, the anime shows no signs of slowing down as Part 2 of the third season will be released beginning on October 12, 2023.
The show’s second half is also expected to stream on Crunchyroll in the US and other selected regions.
Currently, there’s no final word yet on how many episodes Part 2 of New World will have.
