Doom Eternal Congratulates Final Fantasy VII Remake Release with Amazing Tribute

Doom Eternal came out back in late March around the same time as Animal Crossing and many jokes were made about both games and how their styles clashed. Both games ended up being big hits for very different reasons but it's April now and this month clearly belongs to Final Fantasy VII Remake, which everyone has accepted. Rather than be bitter about the big release from Square Enix, the folks at id Software did something awesome and gave us some Final Fantasy VII-inspired Doom Eternal art.

Folks, this is how you congratulate someone else's game. The art has Doom Guy mimic Cloud's pose from the classic PSOne game, which is also the main box art for Final Fantasy VII Remake, while looking at a burning building, probably from hell. It's absolutely gorgeous and if you haven't made this your cellphone wallpaper yet, what's wrong with you?

Honestly, it's a pretty great gesture from id Software and the art itself is just so damn good. It actually makes us wish Final Fantasy VII Remake had some Doom Eternal collaboration so that Cloud can look like Doom Guy but I digress. Simply put, this art is so damn awesome and if you haven't, maybe check out Doom Eternal since that's a pretty good game in its own right.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is finally available on the PS4. Doom Eternal is also available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with the Nintendo Switch version coming out much later.
