Four Knights of the Apocalypse’s new trailer revealed that a beloved character is finally returning. This also prompted some fans to wonder if Varghese will return at some point in The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse.
This might be farfetched given the events of the first episode, though crazier things have happened in other shonen anime, so the possibility is at least worth exploring.

Varghese: Percival’s Caring Grandfather
The Four Knights of the Apocalypse anime follows Percival’s journey as he travels to find the other knights fated to destroy the world.
Before his journey begins, the anime first shows Percival living with his grandfather Varghese on a mountaintop. There, the two enjoy a peaceful life. Things change during Percival’s 16th birthday.
Their quiet life ends on this day upon the arrival of Ironside, a Holy Knight. Ironside is revealed to be hunting Varghese. This is because he believes Varghese to be one of the knights of the apocalypse.
Thus, Ironside lashes the two, leaving them for dead. Percival miraculously survives, but Varghese sadly doesn’t.
Varghese’s last words to Percival reveal that Ironside is his father and that he must find him. Percival does not leave at first, though he soon musters up the courage to depart.
Upon leaving, Percival wears his grandfather’s cloak and helmet. Soon, he meets the talking fox named Sin.

Does Varghese Return in The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse? Possibility Explored
It’s clear that Varghese died in the show’s first episode, but that hasn’t stopped fans from theorizing about a potential return.
This isn’t too surprising given that death isn’t the end for characters in many shonen titles. For instance, death is practically a non-issue in a series like Dragon Ball.
Meanwhile, a title like One Piece has seen characters make surprise returns after their apparent death.
As for Varghese, based on the Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga’s events, he does not return.
Given that the manga is still ongoing, Varghese returning isn’t totally out of the cards yet, though it’s fair to say that the chances of him returning are incredibly slim.
Possibly the best chance for a return is through a flashback. This has a better chance of happening, especially when the series reveals more of its mysteries.
The Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga gets new chapters weekly. Meanwhile, the anime adaptation is also continuing to stream on Netflix worldwide.
