Who Is Oushi in A Sign of Affection?
Oushi Ashioki is Yuki’s childhood friend, aka Mr. Old Friend in A Sign of Affection. He never went to the same school as Yuki, but they started interacting with one another again after they chose the same college.
He can use sign language, and he even uses it to pick on Yuki. He first met Yuki at a community center after being dragged by his sister.
Since then, Oushi has learned how to sign to keep interacting with Yuki, as if they have their little world.
Oushi has always been protective of Yuki, to the extent that he doesn’t want people to jump on her from behind because of her disability.
He also hated Itsuomi for being so insensitive about calling Yuki late at night. He warns Yuki about Itsuomi being a harmful guy because he thinks that he’s just playing with her.
On the other hand, Yuki thinks that Oushi’s sign language always has a sharp edge, but sometimes, it feels like his slender, gentle fingertips are worried about her. Sadly, Oushi only comes off like a child to Yuki.

Does Oushi Like Yuki in A Sign of Affection?
Yes, Oushi likes Yuki in A Sign of Affection. He likes her so much, but he doesn’t have the confidence to make a move on her after all the time that they've known each other.
This is the reason Oushi began hating Itsuomi, who suddenly entered Yuki’s life and took her away from him.
Oushi likes it when he’s doing sign language with Yuki. Whenever he’s doing it, Yuki only looks at him. Even if it's noisy around them, they won’t be interrupted, and it’ll be like they have a secret code between them.
In addition, Oushi uses sign language to make Yuki feel comfortable, motivate her, and give her more positive things to look forward to in college.
All of these explain why Oushi wants Itsuomi to break up with Yuki. But since he’s not a fan of stealing a girl when she’s already dating someone, he wants Itsuomi to call it quits so that he can finally make a move on Yuki.
