Adachi Can Read Minds in Cherry Magic
Kiyoshi Adachi remained a virgin until he turned 30 years old in Cherry Magic. For some reason, Adachi gained a special ability that allows him to hear the thoughts of people he’s able to touch.
It is not a very useful power, and Adachi even thinks it is painfully drab for a commuter like him. Every time Adachi goes to work, he can hear everyone’s thoughts on the train, making his morning commute a huge disaster.
From time to time, Adachi also thinks about touching the girls he’s interested in to see how they feel about him.
Still, Adachi has no confidence to casually touch girls because if he were someone who could touch other people easily, he wouldn’t be a virgin at his age.
In fact, Adachi has zero romantic experience because he’s not the type of guy girls would date.
Adachi also struggles at work, especially when it’s time for him to ride the elevator. It’s always crowded in the elevator, and he can read people’s minds even if he doesn’t want to do it.
In a sudden turn of events, Adachi accidentally discovers Kurosawa’s feelings for him. As it turns out, Kurosawa is head over heels in love with Adachi!

Yes, Kurosawa finds out about Adachi’s powers in Cherry Magic. Adachi also lost his powers at some point in the series.
While Adachi’s powers were able to make him closer to Kurosawa, their natural chemistry and bond are what pushed the two of them to stay together.
They’re now living together as a romantic couple and pursuing their goals despite the negative reactions of Kurosawa’s parents about their relationship.
Adachi is not the only one who has this power in the series. Masato Tsuge, Adachi’s close friend, also received the same ability after reaching 30 years old.
Of course, Masato asks for Adachi’s advice not only for his powers but also for his love interest, Minato Wataya.
Interestingly, the series has yet to address why 30-year-old virgins receive this kind of ability in the first place.
